about

This album is a compilation of singles released throughout 2012 that shows the growth of R.E.F. as an emcee and believer.
The name Everyday Battle is an idea and concept that was created to explain the overall feeling of this projects content.
True Salvation is a story in which explains the struggle between the bible believing Christian and the motivation to stay plugged into his/her bible. The song then declares in the hook the importance of the bible and how it is the only way to salvation.
Act it out is an anthem of sorts that is meant to motivate the listener. Along with some help from long time friend "Promise Son" , the message is clear. Being a "christian" isn't about what you say with your lips but what you act out through your daily actions. (Matthew 12:34) (Matthew 7:20)
Yo Legacy tells three separate stories in which all point towards the fact that we all fall short of Gods glory. Each story tells a part of the human experience and walks the listener through the emotional roller coaster ride which is known as the "Generational Curse"
The Standard features Rep Tha King artists B-Boy 4 Christ and 5ive. This song was originally intended to be a completely different song but after awhile of working on it together R.E.F. and BBC decided to add 5ive to the mix and change the original instrumental up. The concept of this song is all in the name. God is more than a necklace around your neck or a bible in your hand. He is the standard in which we as believers live by.
Bars on Bars is a track that was written after a short hiatus R.E.F. took in order to focus less on music and more on God and family. in the songs first set of verses he says: "I recently settled a beef with the man in the mirror/ he did alot of talking jaws moved but all flawed/ faith had a limited Visa/Mastercard" These lyrics explain a struggle R.E.F. was going through where he was putting more trust in finances than he was in the Lord and yet he still spoke on a daily basis as if he were not having any issues. Although to most this track will seem to have the "weakest" message from a listeners stand point, if dissected correctly you will see the real life struggle with flesh behind the lyrics.
Black and Yellow Remix is exactly what it is..... a remix
Hope you enjoy this release.
